Saving Christmas...and Other Worthy Pursuits
Hey hey friends! It’s been such a long time since we’ve blogged here so we wanted to drop in and wish you all a happy 2021. We’re wrapping up some planning for this year’s episodes, and we are so excited to get started. We’re going to be joined by some guests, talk about some embarrassing things, some serious things, and hopefully encourage you along the way.
If you listened to our latest episode, you know that the Birkelbachs have become a dog family. Surprising their kids Christmas Eve with a precious goldendoodle was a 2020 highlight. Oakley is adorable, and for the most part, a good dog so far. The kids (and maybe Zack) are in heaven. Welcome to the club, Birkelbachs! This is what Sadie looks like when she's welcoming Oakley.
David saved Christmas at our house by grabbing a last-minute gift on Christmas Eve! A lot of determination, and a little bit of luck, and Santa was a success this year. The kids were all well gifted, and David and I even got some pillows that are weep-worthy. (Here’s a link just in case you’re curious) Then we enjoyed a playoff football game and the holidays with family. It looked a little different this year, but still, we were so thankful to be able to get together at all.
We did another thing that was pretty fun. Have any of you rented out a movie theater? It’s so much fun! Some of my family went a few days after Christmas and really enjoyed it. I honestly can’t remember when I was in a movie theater last and it was just as wonderful as I’d remembered, stale popcorn and all. SO much fun!
We are ready to turn the page to 2021, y’all. Control + Alt + Delete. I feel really optimistic about what this year will bring, and I’m so thankful you’re a part of it!
